<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly hermetic container capable of preventing a seal member from being projected inward of the container when the container is sealed. <P>SOLUTION: In the hermetic container comprising a container body 1 having an opening for filling and taking out contents, and a lid 2 attachably/detachably fitted to an opening K of the container body 1 to seal the container body 1, and having a seal member 3 which is held between a circumferential wall projecting end 1b of the container body 1 and a back side of the lid 2 to maintain the container body 1 in a hermetic condition, the seal member 3 consists of an elastomer provided along the circumferential wall projecting end 1b of the container body 1.
