PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting display panel driving apparatus, capable of effectively prolonging the lifetime of a light-emitting element by applying a reverse bias corresponding to the forward voltage of an organic EL element, to the light-emitting element.
SOLUTION: Output voltage VH from a DC-DC converter 6 is controlled, on the basis of forward voltage Vf generated in a monitor element Ex. In the scanning and ON-period of each pixel, FETs Q1, Q4 are turned on and light-emitting elements E1 to En are controlled so as to be selectively turned on, according to the data voltage from a data driver 2. At the switching timing of one frame of an image signal, FETs Q2, Q3, Q5 are controlled so as to be turned on, so that the output voltage VH from the DC/DC converter 6 is applied to respective light-emitting elements E1 to En as reverse bias voltage. Since reverse bias voltage is controlled according to the secular changes of the elements E1 to En, carriers generated when the forward voltage remaining in light-emitting layers of the elements E1 to En are applied can be removed effectively, and thereby the light-emitting lifetime of the elements E1 to En can be prolonged.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
