<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile device improved in usability by automatically discriminating a translation language (translation source and/or translation destination). <P>SOLUTION: This facsimile device has a reading means 10 for reading an image on paper by scanning the paper; a character recognizing means 12 for extracting character data in the translation source language specified beforehand by a user; a receiver language specifying means 14 for specifying the language of the facsimile receiver from the extracted character data; a translating means 16 for translating the extracted character data into the specified language of the facsimile receiver from the translation source language; and a transmitting means 18 for carrying out facsimile transmission of a translated result in connection with information other than characters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
