PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing load on analysis of a MAC packet in a packet processing apparatus for VLAN.
SOLUTION: A line terminating section 110 performs transmission/reception of a MAC packet to/from an Ethernet(R) line. A dummy tag inserting section 120 inserts a dummy tag when a VLAN tag is not included in a header area of the MAC packet, so that leading positions of data areas become the same regardless of presence/absence of the VLAN tag. An MAC packet analyzing section 130 mechanically judges a 19th byte from the head of the MAC packet as a leading position of the data area. A layer-3 header extracting section 140 extracts header information of a layer-3 packet from the data area. A packet transfer processing section 150 uses the header information to perform processing such as header rewriting of the MAC packet. A dummy tag removing section 160 removes the dummy tag from the MAC packet and sends the resulting MAC packet to the line terminating section 110.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
|
