PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for forming a joint of a hat-type steel sheet pile having right and left joint parts of different shapes without any hole die for claw bending. SOLUTION: The device for forming the hat-type steel sheet piling joint comprises at least two roller groups arranged along the downstream direction on a finish rolling mill outlet side. Each of the roller groups comprises a horizontal roll arranged to restrict the deformation of a center web on an upper face side of the center web, vertical rolls which are arranged facing each other above and below an end of an arm part including a part of a joint part and arranged to maintain the horizontal posture of the arm part with respect to the horizontal roll to maintain the vertical posture, and a vertical roll which faces the previous vertical roll and is arranged to apply the pressure to the joint part from the outer side. The roller groups having at least two groups arranged on the finish rolling mill outlet side gradually increase the pressure in the vertical roll to apply the pressure in the downstream direction on the finish rolling mill outlet side, and forms a desired shape at the joint part in the most downstream roller group.
