PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for a vehicle for searching a parking area capable of arriving comfortably at an objective facility after a user gets off the vehicle. SOLUTION: This navigation system for the vehicle for indicating a guide route on an electronic map and the present position of the vehicle to guide the vehicle to a destination has a destination setting means for setting the destination, a location information acquiring means for acquiring location information including a kind of the parking area in the periphery of the destination set by the destination setting means, a selection condition acquiring means for acquiring a selection condition for selecting the parking area including at least the kind of the parking area and/or weather information, and an optimum parking area selection means for selecting the optimum parking area in response to the acquired location information and the acquired selection condition.
