PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily deformable and sinterable precursor for a metal with a ceramics-impregnated closed cell obtained by coating each porous ceramics particle with a metal, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Each porous ceramics particle is coated with a metal or, further, each porous ceramics particle is impregnated with a precursor made into ceramic by being fired, thus the same is made easily deformable and sinterable in pressurizing and molding stages, so as to obtain the precursor for metal with ceramics-impregnated closed cell structure. By pressurizing and firing each porous ceramics particle coated with the metal, each porous ceramics particle is deformed and also sintered, thus a metal with a ceramics-impregnated closed cell structure is formed.
