PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unsaturated polyester resin composition for thermosetting molding, a molding material and a molded article using it capable of maintaining and amalgamating the qualities of appearance of molded articles such as surface smoothness, uniform colorability, etc., in addition to the basic qualities such as water resistance, anti-staining performance, etc. SOLUTION: This unsaturated polyester resin composition for thermosetting molding comprises an unsaturated polyester comprising a dibasic acid component and a polyhydric alcohol component, where (1) the dibasic acid component contains 70-100 mol% unsaturated dibasic acid and 0-30 mol% saturated dibasic acid, and (2) the polyhydric alcohol component contains an asymmetric glycol in an amount of 5-50 mol% which has at least one kind side chain.
