PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material for producing a sheet item which is readily and surely fitted with a specified object, is easily removed, does not leave stain on the surface of the object with an adhesive agent after removal, and also is fitted with an object inappropriate for adhesion with the adhesive agent. SOLUTION: A printing tape 31a as a sheet material has penetration holes 33a which are formed at a specified pitch and allow a specified object to pass through. The sheet material is carried in one direction and is cut in the direction orthogonal to the carrying direction in a cutting position 35, securing two penetration holes 33a to form a label 36a as a sheet item. The label 36a is fitted with the object for use by inserting a rod-like object through the two penetration holes 33a.
