The safety device for mobile lifting platforms with load moment limiting has at least two hydraulically operated supports each with a switch (3) which opens or closes during a predeterminable minimum extension of a respective support. The switches are connected to an at least two-stage load moment limiter (1,2) so that the maximum pressure in the hydraulic system which depends upon the rotational angle position of an outrigger is limitable in the at least two stages.
