There is provided an upgrade module allowing device firmware upgrade only for some of the users of the device satisfying a special condition. The upgrade module (151) is configured so as to upgrade firmware (230) of the device required for realizing a function associated with an operation of the device. The upgrade module (151) operates as a part of an application program (100) using the operation of the device.
