METHOD FOR RAISING INSECT, FEED FOR THE INSECT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING PROTEIN, AND METHOD FOR TESTING THE INSECT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising a silkworm comprising utilizing artificial feed for raising the silkworm, capable of decreasing a mortality rate of silkworms which die at a raising stage and capable of increasing a growth rate of silkworms of which the growth rate is decreased, when the silkworms infected with a genetic recombination virus, etc., which is available for production of a useful material, such as interferon, in a body of the silkworm are raised.

SOLUTION: This method comprises giving the artificial feed to the silkworm during a period of first instar to cocooning, so as to raise the silkworm, wherein the artificial feed for raising the silkworm is given by adding chitosan in an amount of 0.1 percent to several percents thereto.
