<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device simply and electrically connecting a human body to an electrocardiograph when the need arises. <P>SOLUTION: This electrode device for the electrocardiograph is provided with a conductive gel-cartridge formed by wrapping conductive gel with a protective film, and a conductive member retaining the cartridge. The conductive member is so constituted as to be electrically connected to the electrocardiograph and a favorable electric contact is formed between the human body and the electrocardiograph by breaking the protective film of the cartridge. In another aspect, this electrode device is provided with a hollow part for storing the cartridge and a conductive case with at least one single opening for releasing the conductive gel. A sponge member is disposed between the cartridge and the case, and the back face of the case is covered with a substrate.
