<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing device which automatically searches required information and outputs a translation document of high percentage of completion even when translation is performed by specifying a part of the document. <P>SOLUTION: This document processing device is provided with; a reading means 10 which reads an image on a draft; a range extraction means 12 to extract specified area in the image; a character recognition means 14 which extracts character data from the image in the extracted range; a translation means 16 to translate extracted character data; and an output means 20 which outputs the translation result. Further, a content checking means 18 is provided. This determines whether there is any demonstrative by which an object word is not specified within the character data in the extracted character data. When there is such a demonstrative, the object word of the demonstrative is searched in other area than the specified area and the demonstrative is replaced with the searched object word. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
