PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a large pressing-in force to be obtained by an extremely small force when an ink cartridge is loaded, and to enable the ink cartridge to be easily and surely loaded. SOLUTION: This attaching/detaching device for the ink cartridge is equipped with a cartridge holding means 30 and a power transmission converting mechanism 32. In this case, the cartridge holding means 30 holds the ink cartridge 11 by inserting the ink cartridge 11 by a first specified stroke. The power transmission converting mechanism 32 ensures the pressing-in force required for the loading of the ink cartridge 11 by utilizing the principle of lever by the turning motion of a lever arm 163, and at the same time, converts the turning motion of the lever arm 163 into a movement of a second specified stroke S required for the loading of the ink cartridge 11 under a state being held by the cartridge holding means 30.
