PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water meter system capable of efficiently using valves and making an overall length shorter than before. SOLUTION: By the water meter system 600 of this form of implementation, since it is possible to use a ball 87, which functions as a nonreturn valve in normal use, as a water-stop valve for inhibiting the supply of service water for a water meter 20F when the water meter 20F is, for example, attached and removed for inspection ad replacement, the ball 87 is used efficiently as a valve. Since the ball 87 is arranged inside a meter reception part 11F (to be specific, between an upstream-side end part channel 12 and an upstream-side relay channel 31A), an overall length is shortened in comparison with a conventional water meter system in which an operating valve or a nonreturn valve is simply serially connected to both the upstream-side and downstream-side of the water meter 20F.
