PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a labelling system that prevents wrong labels from being attached to items successively. SOLUTION: In the labelling system, when additional information SEQ-s transmitted from an operation control means H in association with print information D is stored and printing the print information D onto a label is finished, a labeller means 4 transmits additional information SEQ-s associated with the print information D. The operation control means H transmits the additional information SEQ-s in association with the print information D so that information before the issue of a restart command and information after that are different. In addition, if there is a difference between additional information SEQ-r received first from the labeller means 4 after the issue of the re-start command and the additional information SEQ-s transmitted first after the issue of the restart command, it is determined that an abnormal state has occurred.
