PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate repair of a hoist by enabling failed hoist to be moved provisionally to the repairing yard. SOLUTION: An operating device 60 for the failed hoist having an assist operating circuit 62 including a control part to control the hoist 10 making winch-up and running is configured so that a coupler 66 is connected with a connector 54 in connection with a branch line 52 from a main operating circuit 50 of a winch motor/brake 46 and a running motor/brake 48 taken out of a hoist side controller 40 when the hoist is failed, and through the connected circuit, power is supplied to the failed hoist 10 so that it is possible to re-operate the failed hoist from a hoist operating board 68.
