The method of positioning a drill template for placing an implant in a jawbone has a matching fit on a mould clip (2) with a bore. The clip has two spaced opposing parallel walls which receive a guide block with a bore for a centring rod. The centring rod is used to position the guide with respect to the hard jaw bone material and the bore is used to guide a dental drill. Claims include a template used in the method.
