<p>Two shaft journals (SJ) (18,20) are each part of separate steel end pieces (14,16) linked with positive/non-positive fit to a positive displacer (PD) (12) that consists of material different from the end piece steel. A vacuum pump rotor's (10) composite nature can select for the SJ and PD an aluminum best suited to the PD's requirements. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a vacuum pump rotor.</p> |
