<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information acquisition technology by a code capable of reducing a non-coincident feeling with a poster or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In this information acquisition method, an image processing means 210 reads information associated to a pattern from the patterns included in a photographed image acquired by photographing an object by a photographing means 204 of a portable information terminal 200.
