PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint for preventing looseness of a ball seat in a socket. SOLUTION: When a load of a first predetermined value or more is applied in the shaft direction of a ball stud 2, when a cushion seat 5 is deformed by a predetermined quantity, an opposed surface part 73 abuts on a first load receiving part 52 of the ball seat 4, and the ball seat 4 checks deformation of the predetermined quantity or more in the axial direction of the cushion seat 5. When a load of a second predetermined value or more larger than the first predetermined value is applied in the shaft direction of the ball stud 2, a second load receiving part 54 of the ball seat 4 abuts on a bottom surface part 33 of an inner chamber 25 of the socket 3, and reduces a load in the shaft direction to the cushion seat 5, and the ball seat 4 checks deformation of the predetermined quantity or more in the shaft direction of the cushion seat 5. Even when a relatively large shaft directional load is applied to the ball stud 2, permanent deformation of the cushion seat 5 can be restrained, and the looseness of the ball seat 4 in the socket 3 can be prevented.
