PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of an audio mixer by enabling a secure resolution switchover of a parameter value variation amount against the operation amount of a knob operating device. SOLUTION: The knob operating device provided in an operation section 8 includes a switch mechanism for switching an on/off state according to a push operation along the rotating axis of the knob operating device. An operating device detection circuit 5 outputs to a CPU 1 a rotation amount and the direction of rotation according to the rotation operation of the knob operating device. The rotation amount according to the rotation operation of the knob operating device is converted into the variation amount of a parameter set value of a control object. At this time, as to the resolution for making the above rotation amount correspond to the variation amount, two resolution types i.e. coarse resolution and fine resolution are provided. In response to the on/off state of the switch mechanism, either of the two resolution types can be set by switching over therebetween. The above rotation amount is converted into the variation amount according to the set resolution type, and the parameter set value is modified on the basis of the above variation amount.
