PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid catalytic component for polymerizing an olefin, which provides a polymer having little fine powder while highly maintaining stereoregularity and yield of a polymer and a catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for producing a solid catalytic component for polymerizing an olefin comprises bringing a titanium halide compound in an amount to partially halogenate a dialkoxymagnesium into contact with the dialkoxymagnesium and then bringing a titanium halide compound in an amount to completely halogenate the dialkoxymagnesium into contact with the dialkoxymagnesium.
