PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a filter causing little amount of scattering of mono-nucleic or bi-nucleic phenols and suitable for manufacturing the filter. SOLUTION: This resin composition for the filter comprises a resol type phenol resin, where the resol type phenol resin has ratios of chart area of the mono-nucleic component and that of the bi-nucleic component each to the chart area of the resin content being respectively 2% or less measured by a gel permeation chromatography.
