PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for preventing loosening of thread in a sewing machine bobbin by which handling of a bobbin is considerably facilitated by preventing loosening of the thread wound on the bobbin. SOLUTION: The holder 1 for preventing loosening of the thread in a sewing machine bobbin P has a cylindrical shaft portion 11 and circular flange portions 12 provided on both ends of the shaft portion 11. The holder 1 is formed of a substantially C-shaped annular pipe member having a slit portion 2 on the inner periphery so as to be mounted on the outer periphery of the flange portion 12 of the sewing machine bobbin P, and one end of the holder includes a holding end portion 3 for holding the unreeled end of the thread wound on the shaft portion 11. The holding end portion 3 is composed of a protrusion 4 formed by partially protruding closed one end of the pipe member in a direction along the shaft portion 11, and an expanding slot portion 5 formed at the tip of the protrusion 4 and holding the unreeled end of the thread inside.
