PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice flour-including powder composition for foam-containing food and provide a method for producing the foam-containing food product therefrom. SOLUTION: The powder composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of rice powder formed from the non-glutinous rice grain, 3 to 12 pts.wt. of sodium hydrogen carbonate and 0.5 to 2.5 pts.wt. of a water-soluble vegetable fiber, but not includes wheat flour gluten and silk fibroin, too. The powder composition for sponge-like foam-containing food product has a viscosity in the range of 1 x 10<SP>2</SP>to 4 x 10<SP>4</SP>Pas at a shear rate of 0.01/s, when 135 pts.wt. of water is added to 100 pts.wt. of the powder composition to form the dough at a normal temperature.
