ADSORBENT AND COLUMN FOR EXTRACORPOREAL CIRCULATION

It is intended to provide an adsorbent by which cells contained in the blood typified by activated leukocytes such as granulocytes and monocytes and cancer cells can be removed and cytokines promoting the activation of cells remaining therein can be removed and which has a high morphological stability without any fear of pressure loss. Namely, an adsorbent having a Zeta potential of -20 mV or above and being capable of adsorbing granulocytes and monocytes in the blood; an adsorbent for treating cancer being capable of adsorbing an immunosuppressive protein; an adsorbent characterized by having a double-layered structure composed of a net and a non-woven fabric; and a blood circulation column packed with any one of the adsorbents as described above.
