An apparatus and a method for coding using bit-precision, and an apparatus and a method for decoding according to the same are provided to reduce the amount of calculation efficiently, by encoding the bit-precision and decoding the bit-precision in the reverse order. An apparatus for coding using bit-precision comprises a data input unit(70), a bit-precision decision unit(74), an encoding unit(76) and a bit stream transmission unit(78). The data input unit(70) receives a data symbol value from the exterior device. The bit-precision decision unit(74) decides the bit-precision value to the data symbol value inputted through the data input unit(70). The encoding unit(76) encodes the data symbol value by using the bit-precision value decided at the bit-precision decision unit(74) and generates a bit stream. The bit stream transmission unit(78) transmits the bit stream encoded at the encoding unit(76) to the exterior device. The encoding unit(76) inserts the bit-precision value decided at the bit-precision decision unit(74) into a header section.
