PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protease inhibitor gene expressed in the cement gland of barnacle cypris larva, and to provide a peptide encoded by the same.

SOLUTION: The protease inhibitor peptide specifically expressed and secreted from the cement gland of barnacle cypris larva by micro anatomy and a molecular biological technique, and the gene encoding the peptide.
