PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional input device which can make an operation member return precisely to a home position of 2 axes of X-Y and can enhance input operation precision, and improves its operativity as well. SOLUTION: A case 8 is provided on a base plate 13 on which magnetic sensors 14a to 14d are installed and an operation member 2 is assembled in the case 8 so that the operation member 2 can be operated freely in direction of 2 axes X-Y. A large circular magnet 10 is fixed on the side of the case 8 and a small circular magnet 9 is fixed on the side of the operation member 2 and both magnets are located mutually in a concentric position. A repulsive force created between the magnets 10, 9 acts so as to return the operation member 2 automatically to the home position in a direction of the above-mentioned 2 axes.
