PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element driving apparatus capable of preventing unevenness of quantity of light from occurring and eliminating loss of an image. SOLUTION: The light emitting element driving apparatus has a constitution having a plurality of light emitting parts LD (1)-(32), a plurality of driving circuits 100(1)-100(32) for driving them, a photodiode PD for detecting the quantity of light of light emission of a plurality of the light emitting parts, sample holding circuits 252<SB>1</SB>and 252<SB>2</SB>for holding controlling voltages for controlling the quantities of light of the light emitting parts based on the detecting result of the photodiode PD, a D/A converter 53 for outputting a correcting signal for correcting the controlling voltages and correcting the quantities of light of the light emitting parts, and a short pulse generating circuit 62 for generating a narrower pulse width than the pulse width of a clock pulse for controlling a timing of outputting the correcting signal and outputting it to the D/A converter 53.
