PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder block implementing desired cooling performance. SOLUTION: The cylinder block 1 has a cylinder bore 11 brought into slide-contact with a piston 12 and constituting a combustion chamber 11, and a water jacket 3 cooling the cylinder bore 11.
