A laminate of metal and plastic films for optical display is provided to have transparency, stable adhesion strength and heat resistance which are sufficient for optical use such as plasma display panel filter, and low yellow index of 0.01-10 after metal etching with ferric chloride by applying adhesive between the metal film and the plastic film. The laminate consists of metal and plastic films combined together with adhesive. The adhesive is polyurethane based adhesive containing a hardening agent with aliphatic terminal group such as cyanate group. The hardening agent is selected from an aliphatic isocyanate hardening agent derived from isopherone diisocyanate(IPDI) or another aliphatic isocyanate hardening agent derived from META-tetramethylxylylene diisocyanate monomer and trimethylol propane. The laminate has yellow index of 0.01-10, overall penetration of above 85% and adhesion strength of above 5N/cm after metal etching by using ferric chloride.
