A charging unit (e.g. a battery charger) includes at least on transmission unit 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 for the remote transmission of an item of information. The transmission unit may utilise radio, optical or acoustic communication. A receiving unit 38 may also be provided. The transmission unit may be used for feeding information into a mobile radio network. An interface 40 may also be provided for creating a connection to a data network. |
