A flat panel display (FPD) assembly (16) includes a flat panel display (28) and a heater (30). The heater (30) includes a heating trace 46 that is attached to and heats the FPD (28), which is preferably a liquid crystal display (LCD). The heating trace 46 may be metallic, resistive or spiral and may also comprise a flex circuit 44. Electrical conductors 52 can be coupled to the heating trace 46 for current supply. A diffusion layer 70 is preferably adhesively attached between the FPD (28) and the flex circuit 44, to aid in the spreading of backlighting through the display. |
