<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane separator capable of enhancing the moving efficiency of oxygen supplied from an air diffusion means in a reaction tank and capable of keeping the flow velocity of a cross flow high. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane separator 1a is equipped with the membrane module 31a immersed in a reaction tank 2 housing activated sludge, the air diffuser 4a being the air diffusion means arranged under the membrane module 31a. A stirrer 5a is provided between the membrane module 31a and the air diffuser 4a so as not only to disperse air bubbles G discharged from the air diffuser 4a while finely dividing the same but also to intensify the cross flow streams C<SB>1</SB>going toward the surfaces of membranes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
