The present invention relates to a wiper coupler 72 and wiper assembly (26, fig 1) that includes a wiping element (44, fig 1) and a tournament-style superstructure 32 to support the wiping element (44, fig 1). The wiper assembly 26 further includes a wiper coupler 72 that releasably attaches the superstructure 32 to a wiper arm attachment member 56. The wiper coupler 72 includes a pair of sidewalls 74 each having a flange 82 to engage a portion of the guides 66 of the attachment member 56 and further includes an elevated platform 102 and a deck 96 each disposed between the sidewalls 74. The deck 96 and a portion of the sidewalls 74 define a rest 108 to receive the track 64 of the attachment member 56. The wiper coupler 72 further includes an aperture 110 between the elevated platform 102 and the deck 96. The aperture 110 receives a portion of the bent tab 60 of the attachment member 56 to facilitate attachment between the superstructure 32 and the attachment member 56 conventionally employed for use with a beam blade-style wiper assembly. |
