A swing-type portable terminal where a camera direction is changed by a swing action of a cover is provided to allow the camera direction to be automatically changed by the swing action of the cover through a simple structure while only one camera is used, thus a user can more conveniently use the terminal. A rotational shaft(101) is extended from a side of a camera housing(100) mounted with a camera module so that the camera housing(100) can be rotatively installed in front and back directions of a terminal on a body(10) by the rotational shaft(101). On a cover(20), a driving ring gear(200) concentric to a hinge shaft(30) is disposed on a surface facing the body(10). A driven gear(102) engaged with the driving ring gear(200) is formed in a section of the rotational shaft(101). When the cover(20) is closed or open through a swing action on the body(10), the driving ring gear(200) of the cover(20) rotates the driven gear(102) so that the camera housing(100) can be reversed to go toward a front direction or a rear direction of the terminal.
