A HIGH TENSILE STEEL CORD AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A high intensity steel cord and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to satisfy stiffness by granting plastic deformation without lowering properties of a matter and satisfying tensile strength only with a plurality of drawing processes, thereby reducing weight of a tire and improving rolling resistance. A carbon steel wire rod having 0.8-0.9 % of the carbon content and having 5.5 mm of diameter is drawn to have a reduced diameter of 1.0-2.5 mm(S1). The drawn wire rod is treated with patenting and an outer peripheral surface of the wire rod is coated with brass(S2). The wire rod is drawn at least one or more times to be filaments having 420-450kg/mm^2 of tensile strength(S3). Two pieces of filaments are twisted in an open structure having a separated part between the two pieces(S5).
