FIELD: processes for enhancing quality of strips in hot rolling mills. ^ SUBSTANCE: reduced waviness and decreased out-off-planeness of rolled strips is provided due to using intermediate stand of finish group as finish group stand for final formation of strip thickness; determining thickness of rolled piece according to normalized relationship taking into account absolute value of strip reduction, predetermined nominal thickness value of strip, positive part of allowance field for thickness of ready strip. Next after said stand finish group stands that are not used for forming thickness of strip are used as calibrating ones. ^ EFFECT: reduced waviness and out-off-planeness of rolled strips. ^ 2 dwg, 2 tbl
