A device for braking a bobbin for a sewing machine is provided to prevent a lower thread from being disentangled by preventing idling of the bobbin by promptly stopping the bobbin when sewing work is terminated, thereby preventing entanglement of the lower thread. A perforated part(124) is formed at a book case(120) covering a bobbin(130). A through-part(114) is formed at a rotary kiln(110) covering the book case correspondingly to the perforated part. An air hose(200) sprays air through the through-part and the perforated part to a place where the through-part of the rotary kiln is placed when the rotary kiln is stopped. A switch valve(210) is installed at the air hose for opening and shutting a pipeline of the air hose, being controlled by a controller(300).
