A method for performing leave in ZigBee network is provided to prevent the disaccord of information between a device to require the leave in the ZigBee network and a device to receive the request of the leave. A leave is requested from a child application layer(401) to a child network layer(402) through a network layer management entity(NLME)(S405). The child network layer(402) receives the leave request, then a disassociation is requested to a child MAC layer(403) through a MAC layer management entity(MLME)(S410). The first disassociation is performed at the child MAC layer(S415). The child MAC layer(403) generates the status information(success or failure) of the disassociation and confirms the status information through the MLME to the child network layer(S420). The child network layer(402) judges the status information related to the disassociation(S425) and then performs a second disassociation(S430). The child network layer(402) generates the status information(success or failure) of the leave(S435) and confirms the status information through the NLME to the child application layer(S440).
