913,969. Spray-producers. ROCHE, A. March 23, 1961 [March 25, 1960], No. 10645/61. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XXVI] Liquid, e.g. paint, and heated compressedair are fed to a spray gun 20 via passages 23 and 21 respectively, and the paint is heated on its way to the gun nozzle by a heat-exchanger comprising a double-walled portion 22 along the hot air passage 21 and through which the paint is circulated by a spiral partition 24. The heated paint is then atomized at the gun nozzle by the hot air. The latter is produced by a compressor which, as shown in Fig. 1, includes an air-tight case 1 containing an electric motor 2 which drives, via a belt 5, rotors 7, 8, 9 on a shaft 10. The rotors are within individual compartments 12, 13, 14 of a chamber 6, and stationary baffles 15, 16, 17 in the compartments cause turbulence and heating of the air which is drawn into the casing through an air filter 3, and driven at low pressure through an outlet chamber 18 and a heat-insulated conduit 19 to the gun.
|
