PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify tracking over a plurality of screens, by moving and positioning a cursor at an arbitrary part on a guidance route on a map, and moving the cursor so as to follow the guidance route. SOLUTION: When a destination is set by an operating equipment 8, a control equipment 4 automatically uses the data of road map information from a map information storage medium 5, and searches the optimum route which minimizes the cost of a road capable of passing from the present position of a self vehicle on the road map to the destination which position is obtained from data of a distance detector 1, a direction detector 2 and a GPS receiver 3. This optimum route is visually displayed on an screen display equipment 7. While the map on an image plane is scrolled in the operation direction by operating a cursor key of an operating equipment 8, positioning is performed in such a manner that the cursor comes to an arbitrary position of a guidance route displayed on the map. In this state, the map on the screen is so scrolled that the cursor moves toward the destination on the guidance route, while a key for route pursuit of the operating equipment 8 is pressed. |
