A clinching assembly (10) has a preclinching tool (16) and a clinching tool (17), which are activated successively to permanently deform and bend a tab of a sheet metal panel; the tools are fitted in fixed relative positions to one tool-holder body (20), which is activated by a lever transmission (27) to move between a withdrawn position and a forward position with respect to the tab to be clinched, and which, in the withdrawn position, is rotatable, with respect to the lever transmission (27), between two tool-change reference positions. |
