A differential bearing assembly comprises an inner race 52 coupled to a first shaft 26, an outer race 54 coupled to a second shaft 24, a plurality of rolling elements 56 positioned between the inner and outer races 52, 54 and an accelerometer 73 coupled to the outer race 54 which is configured to transmit a signal to a monitoring system so that bearing failure can be predicted. The accelerometer 73 may be configured to transmit a signal to the bearing monitoring system by a radio frequency signal. The assembly may be used in a gas turbine engine. |
