The machine has a suction nozzle (12) that for serving a running bobbin (3), where the nozzle is connected to a common negative pressure supplying device. An orifice is attached to the nozzle, with which a suction effect of the nozzle is varied. The nozzle is adjustable by a controllable drive (15), and is adjustable onto a preset opening position depending on the thread type that is wound on the running bobbin.
