A pipe connection between an elongate male member and a female member 14, the male member comprising an elongate 'bend restrictor' 25 and a securing portion 26 connected thereto, the securing portion 26 comprising a body portion 27 and one or more securing members 40 which are displaceable radially outwards of the body portion 27. The securing member(s) 40 may be balls. The pipe connection may be used to connect an umbilical cord (12, figure 1) to an I-tube 14 in a riser used in sub-sea oil or gas production, and may also comprise clamp means (48, 50, figure 1) connected to the umbilical cord (12). An actuating member (70, figure 6) comprising a plurality of inclined portions (76, figure 6) and urged by spring means (80, figure 6) may be provided to displace securing members 40 radially outwardly. |
