<p>A crate (1) made of plastic has a base (2) and at least two side walls (3) upstanding from the base. At least part (8) of the surface of the crate is painted so as to provide a colour different from the colour of the plastic. In this way, a crate having at least two different colours may be provided. A method of providing a crate (1) having at least two colours comprises the steps of providing a crate made of plastic having a first colour, and then painting at least part (8) of the crate using a paint having a second preferably different colour.
